  • Dashboard Confessional - Blame It On The Changes
  • Coldplay - Paradise
  • Taylor Swift - Eyes Open

The Pink Polka Dot

Finally! After asdfghjkl years, I'm getting back on track again! It's been awhile since I've had a bond with books, I missed them a lot. I've been itching myself to get new books on my shelf, so last night I brought this my four little baby books. I judge a book by its cover because I freaking love 'em! Can't wait to read and I'll make reviews about it.

...and currently I'm reading this book. The last book of Heather Wells series by Meg Cabot.

Until the next post, fellas!

Date A Girl Who Travels

"Date a girl who travels. Date a girl who spends her money on summer road trip instead of fancy dresses. She lives her life adventurously, without fear, and both of you will live your love life ad if you're on a lazy vacation. No drama.

Date a girl who travels. She is not the one who spends hours putting on her make up, but she has touched a deeper layer of her femininity that penetrates through every orifice of her life which makes her beautiful even when she's not paying attention.

Find a girl who travels. You may easily recognize her by the stuffs she always carries. You may find coins instead of mascara in her pouch. She will always have a city map, a journal and pens in her bag. Whenever she goes, she's ready to get lost. You start to recognize that her skin is getting darker? Yes, she's not afraid of sun exposure. She paddles down the river with her canoe during the whole day, absorbed in the moment, flowing passionately.
You can try to let her down. But she has learned to toughen up on her way back home from jungle, there is nothing you can say to let her down as she has gotten thrown into the craziness of this world. She is all tough on the outside, but inside she's gentle and calm.

You can try to approach her. But she won't the an easy roas. She will scan you, but she doesn't play hard to get, she just chooses to take a longer path that seems like a magical travel through a sunlit tunnel in Hawaii. It would be thrilling adventure, and at the end of the path lies all of the treasure you have been searching for. You have to be patient.

Date a girl who travels. She sees the hidden beauty in everything. When you are with her, you will realize that even though she has impulsively survived winter storm in Nothern Ontario just to see the Aurora Borealis, strolled around Hanoi going down all the way to Saigon, enjoyed the medieval atmosphere of Antwerp, and there was nothing like a marshmallow ice cream for her to combat the beating Istanbul's sun, at the end of the dat she will try to her way home. Let her know that you're her home. If you're lucky, she will be comfortable around you, being around you feels like she is home in a way that she has never felt when she's on the road.
When she is busy and has a tight schedule during weekdays, ask her to go camping in the backyard during weekend. The try stargazing with her unde the moonlit beside a small bonfire, she wiil show you that Cassiopeia is not hard to spot among the stars and constellations. She loves to explore the night sky as much as she loves to explore new places. Secure and lead herm she needs your guidance. Act as if you're the North Star who always leads her home. Ask her is she can show you Cepheus. She might just give you a little grin since she is not sure enough. Ask her if she wants to name her future child Andromeda.
It’s easy to date a girl who travels.  You just have to be you, as she will take you as who you are. She appreciates honesty as nature taught her so, she is original, and she talks to you without any persona or agenda.  She has the guts to tell you everything with fearlessness, no arguing, no fighting; just a simple free flow of speech without worry of what will be said—just communion, just intimacy. She will appreciate your wit and sense of humor even if you have always felt that nobody really understand your humor, but she is the one who will laugh with you.  For her, life is not about holding on. It’s about living, loving, laughing, and leaving.
If you find a girl who travels, keep her. If she says she loves you, no matter how far you are apart she will always come back to you, her home.  She’s the one who writes a love letter for you a day before your departure to go somewhere across the sea with Frank Sinatra’s “I Wish You Love” song lyrics in it, or better, she will invite you to join her trip. Go with her. Then later on your trip, you will find out that her adventurous spirit is worth fighting for.
Find a girl who travels. It is very predictable that one day you will decide to spend the rest of your life with her. Marry her, you will realize your heart stops to wander."

Bye, Jakarta!

Since I'm the worst person in packing, I'm not able to bring clothes as much as I want to. By the way, I'll be gone for two weeks because we will be going to Tegal for Lebaran holiday. YAY! Probably by the time you're reading this, we were already already a thousand miles away from Jakarta. I've already queued post so you won't even know I'm gone. So until then my readers!

Happy Ears: Fly Me To The Moon

Because I am floating so high right now while replaying this song for the 6th time this early morning, I thought it would be fair to post this right now. As in RIGHT NOW. My heart is melting, heeelllpppp!!!

Cover of Frank Sinatra - Fly me to the moon by Jason Mraz

Room Tour: Coming Soon!

Speaking of my room, I'm in the works of fixing, painting and decorating it. I got sick of its dirty and unkept state and decided to do something about it. So people, watch out for the next post!

Liars Forfeit

Anna: [as she forces Declan awake] You lying, deceiving, son of - a Get up, get up, get up!
Declan: Wha-what?
Anna: Oh? Heads you win, tails I lose.
Declan: [smirks] Oh, you finally got that did you? Well then, good for you.
Anna: Up, get up! This is my bed. Liars forfeit.
[as she sniffs him]
Anna: And take a shower, you smell.
Declan: [shakes head] You can see right through the curtain.
Anna: Can you?.....can you??
Declan: [as he runs to the shower] Okay, liars forfeit, liars forfeit! No peeking!

The Moon

There has always been something about the moon that disquiets my mind and my heart even more, that they seem to be putting up a good fight with my exhaustion and sleepiness. When I finally fall into a good night's slumber and take in such serenity, I go on dreaming of the things that I try my hardest to bury into the deep well of the forgotten. Maybe it just reminds me too much of some things - the things that I don't even need a hint to remember. The things I can never deny. The things I won't ever be able to let go of.

For the third night tonight, I've pushed myself to the limits. And when my eyes shut, I pray that the angels would take me far away, into the dreamless part of dreamland.

Life in Instagram: July 2012

Apologies for not posting anything really decent lately. A little roundup of my weeks, so far, in Instagram:
  1. The day was the election day. I did not realize how much I missed them until we met.
  2. Our random karaoke list. Honestly, we sang a pretty old song by Barbra Streisand, Mariah Carey, Shania Twain and Whitney Houston. Our theme song is...Saving all my love for you.
  3. I'm so tired with this exhausted-unhappy feeling until I saw these amazing words from Christian D. Larson. Amazing, really. Now, I promise to just focused with myself, not give a single damn thing about people who always to turned me down.
  4. I always release a deep breath of stress when looking up at the sky.
  5. Never get bored with this bokeh thing.
  6. Sometimes I wish I could just lie down and watch the sky.
  7. I swear not eat sushi again. God, the taste was just...eewww.
  8. Yes, this is absolutely my food!
  9. Don't judge a food by its look. This sushi may look yummy, but it's not my taste.
  10. He's cute, isn't he? Chicko, our blue eyes cat.
  11. Bought two stuffed smiley. Everyday's a party!
  12. A day out with tiggy.

Have an awesome weekend ahead!

Tearjerker

I know it should be Happy Ears on Thursday, but I make an exception today. I bought this movie a couple months ago and I don't know why I haven't seen it until now. Brilliantly adapted to the big screen from Kathryn Stockett's best selling novel, The Help. This movie touched me in a way the best of movies haven't recently. I really think everyone must see, it paints a sad picture of what America was like in the South at the time and it does it in a way that will entertain you, make you think, cry and laugh at the same time.

Emma Stone does a lovely job as Skeeter, the young woman writing the story of "The Help." Minny was played by the lovely Octavia Spencer. She was truly the star of the show. Aibeleen, words can't express what a character she was. Maybe the words she spoke to little Mae Mobley sum up how lovely and loving this woman is.

"You is kind. You is smart. You is important."

Those are the words that every child should be told. Another character you can't help but love is Celia played by Jessica Chastain. She's a little bit of white trash with a big heart. She wants to be high society but she'll never make it, no matter how wealthy her husband is.

I think Diana Stevens said it best, "The Help is high-functioning tearjerker."

P.S. There's one more thing I worship this movie is the vintage dress!

Life in Instagram: June 2012

Life in Instagram - June 2012

Here's a quick update on my life so far via Instagram. Instagram's really a great way to chronicle some parts of my daily life - especially when I'm too lazy to take out my camera. *wink*
  1. Soto ayam for lunch.
  2. "Belah duren" in the afternoon. LOL. I ate too much durian until I got a headache.
  3. Choco waffle from My pancake
  4. Mie ayam Pak Min. Delicious!
  5. Some books I haven't read yet.
  6. Since it's summer, day and night, the sky is so great!
  7. I think I never get bored capturing a sunset. This one, taken in my rooftop.
  8. What my relationship looks like. Screw up.
I have to admit though, Instagram only records very little tidbits of my life. Anyway, how's your June so far? Hope you're all doing great!

Happy Ears: Payphone

I've heard so many cover of this song, but never be so stunned like this one. In the very beginning of the song, Gamaliel's voice just like adam's. I'm totally abusing the replay button!

Gamaliel and Audrey. Cover of Maroon5 song, Payphone.

The original one.

Sunday Morning At The Zoo

It took two times driving courses to finally I'm brave enough to drive in the Jakarta's street. As you know, Jakarta's street is like hell for a new driver like me. Last Sunday, my family forced me to drove them to the zoo. My nephew, Haikal, was very excited to meet animals! But because the cage is so far away from one to another, so we got tired easily. After four hour-ish at the zoo, we came home.

Haikal couldn't take his eyes off from the elephant.
"Tutuuuuu" Haikal said. He can't spell chicken so tutuuu is actually mean kukukruyuuuk.

Somehow, this lioness reminds me of Mara.
